The Friends of Crarae Champion Tree Trail was updated following a visit by The Tree Register volunteer team in 2025.
Known specimen trees were re-measured and new ones discovered. We now have a trail of 40 exceptional trees from across the globe. Each one categorised as the tallest and/or broadest in girth of their species in Great Britain and Ireland, Scotland or of Argyll and Bute.
The new trail was launched in June 2026 and can be accessed via a downloadable flipbook. Please click HERE to access it.
Crarae's neolithic cairn can be viewed in glorious 3D from surveys by NTS Archaeology team. Click HERE to open the model in Sketchfab.

The Friends of Crarae Committee, like many of us held off their face to face AGM in the hope that the rules would allow the small group to meet in person as we have for many years before. Sadly it wasnt to be and the Annual Report and Finances for the Year 2019/20 can be found on the Annual Reports/AGM page

The Friends of Crarae Committee met at the Crarae Garden Visitor Center for the AGM on the 21st July. A few Friends had an interesting 'wander' around the garden beforehand. The team were joined by local 'Friends' and a glass of bubbles and a bowl of fabulous summer fruits were enjoyed by all present. Thanks to the Committee and the Friends who attended the meeting for their valuable ideas and contributions to the meeting.
