The Friends of Crarae Champion Tree Trail was updated following a visit by The Tree Register volunteer team in 2025.

Known specimen trees were re-measured and new ones discovered. We now have a trail of 40 exceptional trees from across the globe. Each one categorised as the tallest and/or broadest in girth of their species in Great Britain and Ireland, Scotland or of Argyll and Bute.

2025

The Friends of Crarae AGM was held on Wednesday 19th November. The meeting had to move online due to electricity and wifi issues at the Visitor Centre.

2024

The Friends of Crarae AGM was held on Tueday 12th November. A guided walk was led by Victoria celebrating the achievments of the volunteers and garden team.

2023

The Friends of Crarae Committee decided to go virtual again with the AGM, allowing Friends from further afield to also attend.

The Friends of Crarae Committee decided to go virtual again with the AGM, allowing Friends from further afield to also attend.

2021

The Friends of Crarae Committee decided to go virtual for the AGM with fingers crossed for next year for a face to face celebration in the revamped Visitor Centre.

2020

The Friends of Crarae Committee, like many of us held off their face to face AGM in the hope that the rules would allow the small group to meet in person as we have for many years before. The Friends of Crarae Committee met at the Crarae Garden Visitor Center for the AGM on the 21st July. A few Friends had an interesting 'wander' around the garden beforehand. The team were joined by local 'Friends' and a glass of bubbles and a bowl of fabulous summer fruits were enjoyed by all present. Thanks to the Committee and the Friends who attended the meeting for their valuable ideas and contributions to the meeting.
