The Friends of Crarae Annual Carol Concert was held on the 14th December 2017 in Furnace Village Hall.
The Cumlodden Church Choir under the directorship of Barbara Stout and accompanied by Wilf Stout on keyboard provided a very professional backbone to the evenings performance; with the children of Furnace Primary School also singing and accompanying themselves on a variety of percussion instruments and the harp (wow); hardly a dry eye in the house during their opener of 'Little Donkey!'
There was also a beautiful solo performance, some lovely poetry and fun readings (remember the reindeer antlers?) and we were even treated to festive mouth organ tunes during the raffle break.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the imaginitive program and the professionalism shown by everyone entertaining the 'full house' . It was truly a magical evening which, combined with the snowy weather, made this evening the perfect start to 'Christmas'.
The hot mince-pies and mulled fruit punch were a welcome relief from the snowy, icy weather. The takings were in the region of a record £420, so thank you to everyone who attended, took part and gave of their precious time to make this event such a huge success.
